Traffic detours during the Sylvan Way SW intersection closure Sylvan Way SW between the Southwest Precinct and the Arco gas station will be closed beginning as early as March 31. This closure is required for us to demolish and upgrade the roadway at this intersection.
People driving are encouraged to detour to SW Orchard St. This closure will continue into April. Thank you for your patience as we work to make Delridge Way SW a safer and more accessible corridor for all users.

Roadway upgrades at 21st Ave SW and Delridge Way SW continue into April
Paving in this section is scheduled to start soon
We will remain in the area for several more weeks to upgrade stormwater utilities
In the coming weeks, we will demolish and repave the east side of Delridge Way SW to prepare the area for a new RapidRide bus stop
21st Ave SW will remain local access only during this closure. Please use caution when navigating the area.

The last phase of paving has been rescheduled. We will notify affected residents closer to this work starting.
Upcoming curb and sidewalk upgrades on the west side of Delridge Way SW in Zone C
We will continue upgrading curbs and sidewalks between SW Holden St and SW Kenyon St
Roadway, sidewalk, and curb ramp demolition near SW Thistle St scheduled to begin in April
In mid-April, we will begin prepping the area for southbound bus stop upgrades
We will provide a date closer to this work starting
Electrical and roadway upgrades on the east side between SW Thistle St and SW Cloverdale St continue

Upgrades near SW Trenton St continue
SW Trenton St is closed at the intersection with Delridge Way SW to complete roadway, sidewalk, and curb ramp paving in the area
This closure will remain in place for a few weeks. SW Thistle St has reopened for the duration of this closure.

What to expect during paving and construction
Work hours are typically between 7 AM and 7 PM but can last until 10 PM without a noise variance
You may experience temporary access restrictions in and out of driveways on Delridge Way SW during active demolition
Loud hammering, dust, and vibrations
During active demolition, onsite crews will be able to provide access to emergency vehicles of for people leaving their homes for emergencies
If you need your car in a timely manner, we recommend parking on side streets. Otherwise, please be prepared for delays and plan to connect with crews onsite to coordinate access.
Steel plates or a gravel ramp will be placed to provide access to the driveways outside of active work hours
Up to one week of driveway restrictions as concrete cures directly in front of your property. We will deliver notices to any properties with this impact.
Vehicle lane shifts around work zones
Temporary bus detours and bus stop relocations. Please contact Metro for more information.
We will be installing new curb bulb extensions at select intersections on Delridge Way SW. People driving throughout the corridor should practice caution when driving near these new bulbs. The extension above has been installed at SW Edmunds St and painted yellow to allow pedestrians to safely cross Delridge Way SW.
REMINDER: Businesses along the corridor are open during this work. Please follow posted detour signs as you visit these businesses.
