Progress Continues!

Here is a short list of what has been accomplished on site to date:
  • All underground utilities - water, sewer, electric - have been installed.
  • The entire building pad - concrete, rebar, and rock - has been completed.
Coming up next:
  • Delivery and erection of steel skeleton.
  • Completion of mock up and approval of exterior design elements - brick, cast stone, window and door frames - by City of Charleston and Daniel Island.
On March 23, 29 truckloads of concrete were poured between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. to complete the church's main body building pad. Workers then spent the daylight hours curing and finishing the concrete surfaces.
Installation of earthquake drains, long perforated tubes designed to absorb earthen liquefaction to stabilize the structure.
Creation of the foundation.
Is it a jacuzzi? No, it's the shaft for the elevator to the choir loft.
The concrete pouring on the early morning of March 23.
Creation of the mock up panel.
