If you told me the following scenario 16 years ago, I’d tell you: no way, won’t happen. But it’s how and why I’m where I am today.
 

• My mother, Sheila, showed signs of dementia, then lost her home in Hurricane Katrina and her health and ability to create beautiful art due to Alzheimer’s.

• I became her primary caregiver and advocate.

• She passed away in 2013 at age 83 after 4 years in memory care.

• I went from a support group attendee to its leader, and became a devoted volunteer to raise funds for a cure, all in my mom’s memory.

• I retired from a draining, 25-year job and turned my personal loss into my gratifying passion and “encore career”.

 
Unbelievable, right? However, as a caregiving support consultant, I’ve dedicated my life to helping families whose loved ones are living with dementia on your own unexpected, challenging journey.
 
As a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)®, I use my experience with my late mother, my clients, and support groups to advise unpaid family caregivers with advice, guidance, and resources to save you time and money, and to reduce your stress and burden.
 
No matter where you are on your dementia journey, you’re facing unending questions, behaviors, and “what’s next?” decisions…many of which are disrupting your world. As your guide, coordinator, and supporter, I help you navigate your journey from “how do I do this” to “I got this”.
