In Northern Ireland, a new covid-19 vaccination data dashboard has been designed to chart the progress of the vaccine roll-out. The Department of Health in Northern Ireland believes that the platform is the ‘first step’ in publishing vaccination data daily. Currently, the platform offers the ability to view the latest vaccine statistics for the nation, including the number of vaccinations and total doses received in the last 24 hours.

The NHS have launched new personalised videos to target those at risk of Type 2 Diabetes.The Healthier You NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) is currently working with Citizen Communications and the personalised video platform, Idomoo, to reach people who are categorised as being at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.
Allen McKay, Managing Director of Citizen Communications, stated: “Citizen’s Personalised Video combines patient data together with the application of behavioural science, to create ‘personally relevant content’, enabling communication with patients individually, and equally, promoting better health outcomes at scale.”

Mahana Therapeutics, a digital therapeutics firm, have obtained a CE mark for their flagship product Parallel. Parallel is a prescription-only digital therapeutic (PDT) intended to reduce the severity of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms in adult patients. The purpose of Parallel gives providers a new resource to use to help IBS patients reduce symptom severity and improve the quality of lives.

The University of Glasgow are in project PANCAIM which involves a Pan-European consortium focusing on AI treatments for pancreatic cancer. Project PANCAIM will utilise ‘tools such as artificial intelligence, integrated genomics and medical imaging’ to generate breakthrough knowledge, ‘increase understanding of pancreatic cancer biology’ and ‘develop trusted, impactful AI applications for regular clinical use’. The four-year project is a collaboration between research centres, universities, hospitals and industry partners.
