Grades of Green Kicks-Off Earth Month

It's (almost) our favorite month of the year! We are thrilled to celebrate Earth Month 2021 by bringing you new stories weekly that highlight our students' awesome eco-projects, actions and even some events that you can participate in, too. Check out what our students are up to this week!

As part of the Climate Solutions Campaign, the Whitney High School Ecology and Wildlife Club pose with two of 150 tree saplings that the team sold in order to offset their school’s paper usage.

Tree Planting in
Long Beach

Our Eco-Grant winning team from Mary Bragg Elementary School in Cerritos have organized a tree planting event on April 10th in partnership with the City of Long Beach and their Neighborhood Resource Center. They'll be planting 50 trees to combat the climate crisis, lower the temperature and clean the air in a section of Long Beach without adequate green space.

Meet the Roots of Life Team & Nunamaisha!

The Roots of Life student team from Beverly Vista Middle School and The Archer School have teamed up with conservation non-profit Nunamaisha, to help raise money to help the A’I Cofán indigenous community of northeastern Ecuador preserve their ancestral land. Watch the incredible video that these students created showcasing the importance of protecting the rainforest!
