Director's Note
Beginning April 1, we'll be loosening a few of our restrictions at the library. We are eliminating one-way traffic, entering the library at the Mason Street entrance and exiting at the High Street door. Traffic remains pretty slow at the library and it seems like overkill to inconvenience anyone with this requirement. So, feel free to come and go from either door. And please come visit us - we miss you!
We are also extending the length of time that you can spend on your visit to the library. Also beginning April 1, visitors are welcome to stay for an hour. This includes anyone using the public computers.
We will continue to enforce the proper wearing of masks at all times in the library and ask everyone to respect those around them and maintain at least a 6' social distance. The mask requirement is unlikely to end any time soon. You may not be aware that, although unlikely, even those who have been fully vaccinated can still contract COVID. Thank you for your understanding.
Finally, many people are asking when we will begin accepting book donations again. Unfortunately, not yet, but we hope to soon. We have only one small closet for storage, so we can't accept donations unless we have a book sale coming up. We hope to have a book sale over the summer and if we do, we will start accepting books one month before the sale. Thanks so much for keeping your donations for us until we are able to take them.
And what about the games we used to love playing at the library - mahjong, canasta, Bunco, euchre? Perhaps when we're all vaccinated and therefore at very low risk when we share a table. We're looking forward to that time, too.
