Spring Has Sprung! Greetings volunteers, and happy spring! Things are most definitely getting warmer and brighter out there as we slowly crawl out of the most challenging school year we've ever faced. Students are going back to the classroom, and we are fortunate to have increasing access to vaccinations in the community. Yay! New Website Launch
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new and improved website! It's bold, fun and inviting, with lots of information about our history, our extended community and, of course, our people and programs. You'll see lots of familiar student, volunteer and staff faces throughout, and we couldn't be more excited to invite you in to look around. Welcome New Volunteers!
Shout out to our tutoring team newcomers, welcome to the fam! Thank you for raising your hand to help. Yay you!
We had a great time at our Friday Family Game Night! More than 20 Bridge the Gap families gathered online while Miss La Donna hosted a few rounds of B-I-N-G-O!! The students loved the delivered snacks and, of course, the prizes for the winners!
School and BTGCP Updates
Tam High will be inviting students back to campus full time after Spring Break on April 12. An estimated 90% of the student body will be returning, while some will opt to remain online.
Our high school Learning Hub at the BTGCP center will remain open to serve any students wishing to continue attending.
Willow Creek Academy will also have the majority of students returning to school after the break. Thank you to the 30+ volunteers we have supporting students there! There are still opportunities to help at WCA, either in person or on Zoom, so please reach out if you are interested.
Bayside MLK Academy has been offering in person instruction since the fall, as they obtained a waiver from the state to do so early on.
The unification of SMCSD schools (Bayside and Willow Creek) is forging ahead with a fall roll out! Check out the latest as covered in a Marin IJ article last month.
Bridge the Gap teachers and some of their students began meeting one afternoon a week outside of the center last week. It's been awesome to reconnect!
SUMMER IS COMING!There will most definitely be volunteer opportunities to support students beginning in June, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!
