Our circles of belonging wrap this world in love:
We weave a magic fabric from the threads which link our hearts.
Here on these webs and circles, shining threads are spiralled round,
as we root into the places where we gift our blood to earth.
This moon shines light upon these threads;
this earth is nourished by our prayers,
and honoured by our feet which tread with love upon this world,

RESURGENCE: Spring Time and Menopause
Under this full moon light, let us feel the resurgence of life Herself as a potent energy of renewal. Let us be nourished by the sense of connection that we can hold - each of us, bathed by the same moon light, wherever we are.
I am celebrating this Spring Equinox week a whole year without bleeding, and I feel a resurgence of energy now as I step into the circles of the menopausal women that I have respected and honoured with some awe as I have been navigating my own perimenopausal journey. . . I give thanks to those who have held me through this lockdown year of menopause, and I wonder how many others have transitioned through to menopause within this time of pandemic?
"OUR LIBERATIONS ARE INTERTWINED" - Yoga Nidra for Women!
It is always an honour to hold circles for women around the world, (live and online) and to welcome a global rainbow of teachers and guides into our training courses and workshops. I am especially delighted to welcome a stellar team of collaborators from around the world for our Yoga Nidra for Women's Health Teacher and Facilitator Training. Every practice shared on this intensive training retreat is specially created to support every aspect of women's health and wellness. Teaching and sharing on this course in May are the inspirational Yoli Maya Yeh who will be sharing from her perspectives at the intersection of indigeneity, social justice and healing, Dr Beverly Bruce who has recently completed her PhD in somatic psychotherapy and yoga nidra and Olga Chwa, sharing her pioneering Queer Nidra. We will be joined by special guest Kate Codrington with her particular expertise in sharing nidras with menopausal women, and other guests will be sharing perspectives on yoga nidra for adolescent girls and young women too. . .
All vital aspects of women's wellness will be addressed in this women only training space. If you have been looking for the nidra facilitator training course that specially addresses women's well being - this is it!
GLOBAL NETWORKS of support and learning
This past nine days I have been in the most powerful global circle of women, from California to New Zealand, and from Bahrain to Oslo - fifty four yoginis from all around the world came together in respect and love to begin the journey of our first ever Yoni Shakti Well Woman Online training. It was a holy and powerful time and I give thanks to the team that held it all together and to the women who showed up each night to share and learn together. The course continues to unfold, with nine months of consolidation ending in November 2021. If you would like to join us next time, you are so welcome, bookings will open for our July course very soon.
Please note that for the whole of 2021 my plan is teach online only to safeguard everyone's health and to avoid adding further layers of complexity to the prevailing uncertainty!

CAMPAIGN, SPEAK OUT, TAKE ACTION!
It's a joy to introduce you to our new campaign managers at Yoni Shakti the Movement Campaign to eradicate the abuse of women and to reclaim yoga as a tool for healing and justice. Jill Watson and Tiffany Mitchenor step into their roles as campaign managers, announcing the support of over eight hundred campaign supporters. Jill and Tiffany have already been working hard to welcome many new members and to share posts and good news on the Yoni Shakti: The Movement Facebook Group. We have also together worked to issue a statement about recent revelations of institutional coverup of sexual harassment by Richard Miller, founder and director of iRest yoga nidra institute and have recently provided listening, support and community to many teachers within that lineage and beyond who are in a space of dismay and confusion (you can read the statement here. The campaign goes from strength to strength and if you have not already signed your support please do.

1-1 sessions with Uma

There are some different ways that I can support you in 1-1 sessions:
1. Listening and mentoring (30 minutes or 1 hour sessions)
Sometimes what is needed is just time to be HEARD - I can listen in to where you are, and provide mentoring for personal and professional issues. We can do these sessions on the phone or via Zoom.
2. Co-creating a Total Yoga Nidra practice to support where you are in your life (one hour session)
This session starts with a fifteen minute sharing, followed by a 30 minute yoga nidra practice tailored especially for your requirements at this time, and then we have time to reflect and orient before the end of the session.
3. Yoga therapy session (1 hour session).
This session starts with a fifteen minute sharing, followed by a 30 minute yoga therapy practice tailored especially for your requirements at this time, and then we have time to reflect and orient and consider how to implement this in your life before the end of the session.
4. Motherpeace Tarot Reading (30 minute session for short questions, or 1 hour session available for longer enquiries)
This session starts with a tuning into the cards, asking the question you are wanting to ask, and then is followed by time for me to spread and read the cards for you. I work mostly by sharing back to you the questions that the cards indicate would be helpful for you to reflect upon.
5. Motherpeace Total Yoga Nidra Session (one hour session)
This session starts with a tuning into the cards, asking the question you are wanting to ask, and then is followed by time for me to spread and read the cards for you. I then invite you to get ready for the yoga nidra and share a 30 minute practice with you that shares all the questions that the cards indicate would be helpful for you to reflect upon, in the format of a Total Yoga Nidra Practice.
