Attached to this email are the minutes of the club’s AGM which took place through Zoom on 25th February (see link below) The most important discussion was about when we might be able to meet physically as a club and also where.
The earliest proposed date for full opening of pubs is 21st June. This may however be with a number of social distancing measures still in place and it remains unclear as to how this would affect folk clubs and other small events.
We will almost certainly have to find a new venue. The Taproom has changed hands and the new owners seem to want a different ambiance. We have some alternatives in mind but whilst we remain in some version of lockdown, it is not practical to contact any of these venues. If you know of any possible venues, please get in touch with us at this email address. One idea floated is a “hybrid” club where both participants and audience can be either in a venue or on online. Any booked guests would almost certainly be performing in the venue but would be live-streamed. We are investigating what facilities and equipment would be needed for this.
We’ll be keeping you informed regarding developments. Please also look out for an impending announcement about our Trad2Mad song competition which relaunches in April.
