About the speaker: Shane Fitzsimmons was appointed as the inaugural Commissioner for Resilience NSW and Deputy Secretary, Emergency Management with the Department of Premier and Cabinet from 1 May 2020. He is currently the chair of the State Emergency Management Committee (SEMC), the State Recovery Committee (SRC) and the National Emergency Medical Committee (NEMC).
This appointment followed a distinguished career with the NSW Rural Fire Service of over 35 years, serving as both a volunteer and salaried member.

At 12 noon the pre-ordered sandwiches will be available. You may also bring in your own lunch and spend time with your friends and colleagues.
Free tea and coffee will be available in the Auditorium from 12 noon.

For those wishing to visit the RUSI NSW Ursula Davidson Library, please contact Graham Brown, our Office Manager on (02) 8262 2922 or Paul Irving, Acting Library Manager on 0412 284 550 to arrange a suitable date/time.
The Ursula Davidson Library is recognized as a Library of national significance, and contains many original and rare books maps and manuscripts dating back to when NSW had its own pre Federation Military, through to current editions of the ADF newspapers.
How to get to RUSI NSW
Currently the Liverpool Street access is closed due to construction work, it is expected that it will be open by 25th April.
Walking or wheel chair access
From Liverpool street: through the walkway between the water cascades, to the Hall of Service security desk.
From Elizabeth or Park streets: there is an inclinator to take you to the lower south section of the Memorial for the use of the public that need it.
