Happy Spring Equinox, Easter and wishes for all with the reawakening of Nature all around (in the Northern hemisphere :))
These cycles of life within and without, moment by moment renewal and change...
& with Easter bunnies originating from the pagan festival Eostre, a northern goddess whose symbol was a hare or a rabbit... I am reminded of a very special, beautiful and sensitive rabbit...

'Fiver', the Seer and Visionary in 'Watership Down' by Richard Adams

Hazel's younger brother, Fiver foresees the future and even though the others often think him strange, Hazel believes in him... he has not yet been wrong in his predictions...
His visions often emerge as poetry and rhyme:
'High lonely hills - Where the wind carries every whisper' - Fiver's vision of Watership down.
'A warning comes from the lonely and brave. The one, who will save us is the one, we can't save.'
'Blackberry, wait for me! A long dark trail leads through sorrow and night. Follow your heart and you come to the light.'

'All the electricity of New York City'
I do not live happily or comfortably
With the cleverness of our times.
The talk is all about computers,
The news is all about bombs and blood.
This morning, in the fresh field,
I came upon a hidden nest.
It held four warm, speckled eggs.
I touched them.
Then went away softly,
Having felt something more wonderful
Than all the electricity of New York City.

New garden colour!
I've been trying some 30 min sketches with oils, on paper - tearing an A4 piece into two - one side for the palette :) and one for the painting... just to see & experiment... as have never sketched like this with oils and a dry brush - lots of fun!

We recently painted around the theme of birds, totems, spirit and messages, with colour, line and amazing, delightful surprises! Also some new species of fantastical birds emerged from their eggs..!
Quiet painting, sharing, meditation, art exercises, music, movement...all towards a celebration and a letting go of self-judgement... painting from a new, heart space without the 'thinking' mind....joy! x

And finally... when you know the feeling of a sound, yet can't quite remember?
A short morning poem that wrote itself on a scrap of paper, inspired by me trying to remember what had made a certain sound, years ago, a sound that I felt viscerally and over the years have often tried to remember what it was...
