OFFICE OF SUICIDE PREVENTION

Welcome!

Welcome to the March 2021 Office of Suicide Prevention newsletter!
Rockstar Partner Spotlight!

Aimee Resnick (she/hers) serves as the Colorado Youth Advisory Council (COYAC) Commissioner on the Colorado Suicide Prevention Commission, which is the advisory body for the Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP). Aimee is also the Co-Lead for the Commission’s Youth-Specific Initiatives Workgroup, which meets every other month with partners around the state to talk about how to support youth and young adults in order to prevent suicidal despair, attempts, and deaths.

The OSP is incredibly grateful for Aimee's leadership and passion for supporting upstream youth suicide prevention through an equity lens. Aimee has been instrumental in collaborating with partners to draft suicide prevention recommendations that support disparities impacting Black, Indigenous, and Youth of Color. Aimee's commitment to centering youth voices and voices of lived experience makes the workgroup more inclusive and representative. She is a role model and the ultimate example of a leader.

Aimee was also featured in Lifelines, a Rocky Mountain PBS documentary, which you can view here.

Thank you, Aimee, for all of your incredible work! We are honored to recognize you as this month's Rockstar Partner!

Do you have a Rockstar Partner in your community that you would like to see featured in our next newsletter? Nominate them here by completing our Rockstar Partner Nomination Form.
