It will delight the children in your life as well make an ideal hostess gift or express your appreciation to friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Order your Easter Bunny gift box for $20 by going to the Easter Fundraiser page.

Order in advance and pick up your boxes from Hebard Insurance Solutions, 3837 Taylor Road, Loomis on Tuesday, March 30 to Thursday, April 1 from 1 to 5 PM.

For more information, contact Rae DeGabriele.

Rae created this unique Easter gift box fundraiser to support our club's education projects that include college scholarships, education grants for Loomis Union School District teachers and career exploration for girls in Koinonia Group Homes. Thank you to all the promoters, bakers, decorators and assemblers in the club who are contributing to this effort.
St. Patrick's Day Meal is a Successful Fundraiser
Thanks to members who made this new St. Patrick's Dinner to Go fundraiser a success by selling 250 tickets and volunteering to prep, cook and handout the meals, under the leadership of Chris and Peggy.
We are grateful to our community partners including the South Placer Heritage Foundation that contributed use of the Blue Goose Event Center kitchen, Loomis Union School District for spreading the word and Kent Walters of Top Flight Fundraising for providing cookies.
Club Provides St. Patrick’s Meals for 120 Seniors
Several times per year, our club cooks meals for the seniors at the LIFE Center and each month Soroptimist members have been helping to deliver meals to those who are homebound. It is our tradition to cook for St. Patrick's Day meal and we provided 120 meals this year. The Loomis Soroptimist club was instrumental in the formation of the senior LIFE Center and has supported this community service since its inception.
Stand Up Placer Receives Four Carloads of Donations
After hearing the inspiring message from Stand Up Placer at our February meeting, we made arrangements for the club to donate to the thrift store in Roseville on March 19.
Stand Up Placer is dedicated to saving lives by empowering survivors and educating communities about how to stand up to domestic violence, sexual assault and trafficking. Women receiving services from Stand Up Placer can "shop" at no charge for interview clothes and other household items that they need. Thanks to all the members who contributed so we could fill three SUV's and a truck.
The Stand Up Placer crisis and help line is open 24 hours/day, 7 days/week at (800) 575-5352.
Thank You to Our Business Supporters
Since our club has not been able to do many of our usual fundraising events, club members reached out to their colleagues at local businesses asking them for a contribution to support our efforts. A special thank you to the following individuals and companies that responded to our request with generous donations--over $3500 has been donated so far!

Get to Know Karin
Karin Williams was introduced to Soroptimist by Alaire when she was looking for a way to get more involved in the community. Although she wasn’t sure what Soroptimist was initially, she indicated that she was “hooked” when she learned the Soroptimist mission was to encourage, empower and help women.

She has been active in several committees. “The Awards Committee has been the most ‘rewarding’ –literally,” said Karin. “I love to read the applications and learn more about the women and students. It’s amazing to see what some Live Your Dream applicants have overcome and how they continue to work towards improving their lives. The Del Oro students are remarkable as well. Seeing the teachers’ creativity and their heartfelt desire to help the students grow is inspiring.”

The Little Free Library is another project she enjoys. “I love the Little Library – the idea of people being able to easily access a variety of books and just explore is wonderful,” said Karin.

Karin explained that her profession is in Information Technology (IT ) Management. “I started in consulting out of college and then had the opportunity to work at Roseville Telephone as a Business Analyst in IT,” said Karin. “Over time, I had the opportunity to manage a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts. I now have folks across all time zones! Together, we work on a wide variety of company initiatives from launching new products/services to increasing operational efficiency to regulatory compliance. I am constantly learning, which is my favorite part of the job. I’ve been with Consolidated for 29 years and I can honestly say I have NEVER been bored!”

“I like that the Loomis Soroptimist club truly makes a differences in people’s lives,” said Karin. “I’m constantly impressed with those who lead the club and are driven to do all that is possible to help others in the community.
Days for Girls Project to Wrap Up in April
For nearly two years, our club has been working closely with Days for Girls Rocklin team to sew 200 sanitary kits. The Days for Girls organization distributes these reusable sanitary kits with educational materials worldwide so that girls don’t miss school due to their menstrual cycles.  The kits are also distributed to those in the United States. The kits include waterproof pads, panties, soap and other components in a cute bag to carry the supplies.
For the program meeting on April 21, members will finalize the bags so they can be presented to Days for Girls and distributed through their network.
Club Updates Materials
To communicate with those who purchased St. Patrick’s Day meals and the Easter boxes, we’ve updated cards that explain Soroptimist and our club’s activities as well as our tri-fold brochure. Thank you to Toni for using her graphic design skills to update these marketing materials.
