CMS Review

You asked for it and here it is – drum roll please! We are pleased to present a high-level review of case management systems (CMS) to help you make decisions about moving to a CMS other than CLASS.

Actionstep and CSNet will demonstrate their CMS as part of our Emergence series of online events.

CLASS import tool

CLCs Australia built the CLASS import tool to meet the needs of Centres who chose not to use CLASS in their day to day operations.

The CLASS import tool uses an automated file transfer process to import essential reporting data into CLASS.

Your sector needs you

We need your help in collecting good quality data so we can make the strongest case possible. We anticipate that starting in April there will be a clear and possibly rapid increase in legal need and demand for your services. This will come about as a result of governments turning off JobKeeper, reducing JobSeeker to just $44 per day and failing to extend the moratoriums on tenancy evictions and debt. We are about to experience the true impact of COVID-19 on the people and communities we work with.

New Release

The latest new features that you have been asking for. We are very pleased to be able deliver:

  • new fields that can be added to Actions and Additional parties
  • improved workflows for Intake and Triage
  • automatic notifications to Centres and Program Managers when a report has been submitted or the status has changed.

South Australia and CLCs Australia improving data quality

Susan, James and Samuel from CLCs Australia worked with CLCs in South Australia ways to collect impactful and quality data through a series of face to face workshops.

The central theme was how everyone in the sector has a role to play improving data quality. A key workshop outcome was that  everyone gained a better understanding of the underlying issues. The CLCs Australia team will now pull together everything  they've been able to glean from the workshops as well as from visiting five different Centres across South Australia. CLCs Australia will now transform all of this learning into more helpful and improved guidance for the sector as a whole.

Thanks to the dedicated people who make up the CLC community in South Australia for bringing their ideas and passion for their all important work to this collaboration.

ABS Legal Assistance Service Data Project Webinar

On Thursday 25 March, Christina Feild, Assistant Director of the National Centre for Crime and Justice Statistics at ABS provided details about the Legal Assistance Service Data Project, which is a collaboration between not-for-profit legal assistance agencies and the ABS to compile sound and meaningful statistics about the legal assistance sector, as required under the NLAP.

NLAP Reporting: What has changed?

The National Legal Assistance Partnership (NLAP) Agreement has now been in operation for almost a year.

We have been asked by a number of Centres how the reporting requirements are different to the NPA, so we’ve created a table that summarises the main changes.

Turnaways

Turnaways are an important measure of unmet legal need, and the data we collect informs our advocacy for more funding for the sector.

We want to thank everyone who provided comments on the draft paper on Turnaways.

We look forward to hearing more of your feedback and will aim to publish a final version in our April news, so please email us with anything you'd like to add.

Training in April and May

We’re pleased to announce some new training offerings in April and May. We’ve worked hard on making the training more interactive and breaking up longer sessions into smaller, bite-sized chunks to make it more accessible.
