Wembley Golf Course General Manager wins National Award!

Congratulations to our Wembley Golf Course General Manager for winning the National PGA's Management Professional of the Year Award!

The Wembley Golf Course is recognised as a benchmark golfing facility within Western Australia. Complementing its ambitious tagline as, ‘Australia’s Best Public Golf Experience’ its reputation has helped to recruit and build an outstanding team to continue working toward that goal.

General Manager, Josh Madden, was awarded the West Australian PGA’s Management Professional of the Year Award in 2019. That honour then saw him judged against the winners from each state in that category at the virtual 2020 Greg Norman Medal Ceremony, the Premier Awards of the Professional Golfers Association of Australia.

Due to the COVID-19 disruptions in 2020, the awards ceremony was postponed until last week.

In accepting the award, General Manager Josh Madden said that the recognition is testament to the hard work from the entire team at the Wembley Golf Course.

New Play Space set for Lake Monger

Work on a new adventure play space at Lake Monger will commence in early April.

The Town is replacing the South West playground at Lake Monger with a new inclusive adventure play space.

The project will incorporate recycled timber poles from the Town's underground power program and include raised platforms, ropes, double flying fox and multi-sensory elements.

The design encompasses a play-for-all approach that creates opportunities or challenging adventure play, calm spaces and social engagement. Picnic areas and additional shade tree planting will also be included as part of the works.

The play space is expected to be complete by the end of June 2021. For more information on the works, visit the Town's website.

Canines of Cambridge Success

It was a busy day at Beecroft Park when the Town hosted its annual Canines of Cambridge event!

The hot weather didn't hold our residents back last Sunday, with hundreds of the Town's residents and their four legged friends attending the event.

The Town's Rangers and Community Safety team were on hand to provide current and future dog owners with information about responsible dog ownership.

The day featured live music, children's rides, a free photo booth and dog agility course, with all proceeds from the event donated to the RSPCA and Shenton Park Dog Refuge.

See you next year for our next Canines of Cambridge event!.
