Hi parents and carers,

We've hopped on board with Recharge this week to join in with their curriculum (albeit slightly more age appropriate for Kidzchurch) and hope that if you have children who are in both Kidzchurch and Recharge this will faciliate family time and discussion post Sunday in a more inclusive and united way.

Let us know how your children respond and how we can be praying for you as families.

We pray you will all be blessed this week as you remember that our God is Lord and nothing surprises Him!
WHAT WE LEARNED THIS WEEK

GOD IS LORD

Jacob & Esau
Genesis 25:19-34; 27

Rebekah gives birth to twins Jacob and Esau. The rivalry between the twins begins before they’re even born. Later, when their father Isaac is on his deathbed, Jacob and his mother Rebekah plot to steal Esau’s birthright.

WHERE WE'RE HEADED NEXT TIME:

REMEMBER & CELEBRATE

Feast of Passover

Remembering and celebrating God as Deliverer

DID YOU KNOW?

Share these facts to get the conversation started ready for next week.

• Each part of the Passover meal represents a part of telling the story of the Israelites’ escape from Egypt.
• The Israelites celebrated seven annual feasts and festivals: Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Festival of First Fruits, Feast of Harvest, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Tabernacles (or Booths).
• During the feasts, the Israelites ate, danced, sang, played instruments, prayed, and offered sacrifices to God.

CONNECT AS A FAMILY

Set aside an evening to remember and celebrate as a family. Hopefully this can become a fun tradition for your family. Just as the Israelite celebrations always revolved around a feast, create a fun feast for your family (e.g., eat ice cream, make milkshakes, get French fries, or build a fire and roast marshmallows in the backyard). Whatever you choose, do something special and spend the time remembering what God has done in the life of your family as well as in each of you individually over the past few weeks. Read Psalm 100.

After reading the Scripture passage, discuss these questions together:

• What has God done in our family recently?
• What have you heard God say to our family recently?
• How can we thank God for protecting us and providing for us?

These questions can easily extend into the rest of the week. Look for opportunities to bring conversations about how God is deliverer into your everyday life as a family.

MEMORY VERSE

"Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”
Psalm 90:2

BLESSING:

Child's name, may you know that our God is mighty and powerful, and He fights for you. May you see God as your Deliverer in your life this week.
