Welcome to the tenth edition of PANORAMED newsletter!

This issue is a special edition exclusively focused on Mainstreaming methodology as one of the cross-cutting themes PANORAMED is working on. Specially dedicated to public policy specialists and practitioners, as well as European Territorial cooperation project coordinators, this issue aims at increasing awareness and understanding of the value of mainstreaming processes in the Mediterranean region, while at the same time contributing to their streamlining in future programmes.

 MAINSTREAMING: KEY TO THE FUTURE INTERREG MED PROGRAMME

Mainstreaming is gaining more and more recognition as a key process in the context of policymaking, and especially in Interreg programmes, as an effective tool to give further visibility to cooperation results and outcomes. Since 2018, PANORAMED has supported six mainstreaming experimentations, which inspired the launch of a short thematic campaign. Read more
 
If you are involved in EU public policy processes, you are probably familiar with the concept of “mainstreaming”. However, you might have questions regarding how to put it into action, what are the main steps to be followed, the key success factors of the process, or how to overcome the most common challenges...

This Factsheet, titled "PANORAMED Mainstreaming Methodology", has been designed to answer all these questions in a synthethic, user-friendly manner, by providing guidance, tips and practical solutions to those who are envisaging to set-up a mainstreaming process.

The elaboration of this factsheet was supervised and tailored with contributions by PANORAMED WP9 (Région Sud - Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur).

 LESSONS FROM PANORAMED MAINSTREAMING PROCESS IN VALENCIA REGION: THE GIVER'S PERSPECTIVE

We got in touch with Miriam Navarro Escudero, Financial manager and Head of International R&D&i Department at Valencia Building Institute, to discuss with her on some of the key features, results and lessons learnt of the Valencia Region mainstreaming experiment, carried out in the framework of PANORAMED. This experiment was based on tourism and energy efficiency.  Read more


 
HORIZONTAL AND STRATEGIC PROJECTS IN PROGRESS FOR A BETTER MEDITERRANEAN GOVERNANCE

Launched in 2019 and 2020, Horizontal and Strategic projects contribute to improve public policies on key Mediterranean issues. 2021 will see the setting up of capitalisation strategies for Strategic Projects and the implementation of transfer and mainstreaming activities for Horizontal ones. Representatives from PANORAMED WP9 - Mainstreaming, outline the main transfer milestones foreseen in 2021.  Read more


 INTERREG CALL FOR TRANSFER AND MAINSTREAMING PROJECTS

The 5th Call for Modular Projects call, targeted to the transfer or mainstreaming of shortlisted outputs of finalised Interreg MED projects, is currently open! The indicative financial allocation for this call is about 4.6M€ (ERDF + IPA + national co-financing). It will be open until 15th of April 2021 at noon (metropolitan France local time). Read more
