HEXAGRAM DÉVOILE LA DÉMO DE VANESSA MARDIROSSIAN : CULTURE DE LA COULEUR
Quels sont les enjeux écologiques du design textile? Cette question oriente le processus de recherche-création de Vanessa Mardirossian [Université Concordia] et lui permet de réfléchir à une approche critique de la matérialité grâce à la conception de biomatières à porter. Cette DÉMO porte sur l’exposition « Culture de la Couleur: Une écolittératie du design textile » qui présente les différentes étapes de l’exploration tinctoriale de Mardirossian.
Son exposition peut aussi être visitée jusqu’au 7 mai à l'École supérieure de mode de l’UQAM (ESM), au 280 rue Sainte-Catherine Est, à Montréal.

HEXAGRAM REVEALS VANESSA MARDIROSSIAN’S DEMO: THE CULTURE OF COLOR
What are the ecological implications of textile design? This question, which guides Vanessa Mardirossian's [Concordia University] research-creation process, allows us to reflect on a critical approach to materiality through the design of wearable biomaterials. Our second DEMO focuses on the exhibition "The Culture of Color: An Ecoliteracy of Textile Design" which presents the different steps of Mardirossian's tinctorial exploration.
Her exhibition is open until May 7th at the École supérieure de mode de l'UQAM (ESM), 280 Sainte-Catherine Street East, in Montreal.

LE COCHERCHEUR ET CODIRECTEUR D’HEXAGRAM CHRISTOPHER SALTER RÉCIPIENDAIRE DE PRISME
Christopher Salter [Université Concordia, Codirecteur Hexagram] est parmi les récipiendaires de la première édition du programme pilote PRISME, pour le projet science/art co-porté avec Marcelo Wanderley (Université McGill), intitulé Metamorphosis : nouveaux modes expressifs d’interaction en théâtre basés sur la réalité augmentée.
Lancé en janvier 2021, ce programme invitait des équipes de recherche à faire interagir les sciences et les arts à travers un projet porté conjointement par deux chercheurs ou chercheuses issus de chacun des secteurs couverts par Le Fonds de recherche du Québec — Nature et technologies (FRQNT) et le Fonds de recherche du Québec — Société et culture (FRQSC) . HEXAGRAM CO-INVESTIGATOR AND CO-DIRECTOR CHRISTOPHER SALTER RECEIVES A PRISME AWARD
Christopher Salter [Concordia University, Co-Director Hexagram] is among the recipients of the first edition of the PRISME pilot program, for the science / art project co-sponsored with Marcelo Wanderley (McGill University), entitled Metamorphosis: new expressive modes of interaction in theater based on augmented reality.
Launched in January 2021, this program invited research teams to bring together the sciences and the arts through a project jointly led by two researchers from each of the sectors covered by Le Fonds de recherche du Québec — Nature et technologies (FRQNT) and le Fonds de recherche du Québec— Société et culture (FRQSC). Hexagram was mentioned among seminal partners of the world-renowned Ars Electronica Festival alongside other actors of the international Digital Arts scene such as MIT Boston and Bozar Brussels, in last Monday’s press conference to announce the Festivals’ 2021 chapter titled “A New Digital Deal” (September 8 to 12). Nous sommes également fiers d’annoncer que les œuvres « écosystème(s) » d’Estelle Schorpp [Université de Montréal], « Le cristal de l’oreille » du collectif AuXauralités(incluant Philippe-Aubert Gauthier [UQAM]) et « La fin du média » de Maxime Corbeil-Perron [Université de Montréal] font partie de la programmation des installations sonores du 37e FIMAV. Ces trois installations seront exposées sur la Place Sainte-Victoire à Victoriaville du 17 au 23 mai, de 10h à 20h.
La mission du FIMAV est de promouvoir et de diffuser les nouvelles musiques expérimentales et d’improvisation d’ici et d’ailleurs. Leur programmation inclut aussi une série de projections cinématographiques et de concerts, qui auront lieu du 21 au 23 mai 2021. We are also proud to announce that the works “écosystème(s)” by Estelle Schorpp [UdeM], "Le cristal de l'oreille" by the AuXauralités collective (including Philippe-Aubert Gauthier [UQAM]) and "La fin du média" by Maxime Corbeil-Perron [Université de Montréal] are part of the Sound Art Installation program of the 37th FIMAV. These three installations will be exhibited at Place Sainte-Victoire in Victoriaville from May 17 to 23, 10 am to 8 pm.
APPEL À PARTICIPATION – La sympoïèse d’un cercle de lecture ambulatoire Par Gisèle Trudel et Susan Turcot, avec la complicité de Sylvie Laplante et Émilie Mouchous [UQAM]
Une continuation de la voix en marche, accompagnée d’un chapitre du livre Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene par Donna Haraway (2016). La philosophe invite à penser avec les autres-qu’humains. Cette activité souhaite étendre les approches du partage, lier la technologie au vivant, multiplier les voix, ouvrir des connexions situées. Les processus d’enregistrement et d’écoute activés par la marche et en cercle de discussion seront explorés en petit groupe, tout en respectant les consignes sanitaires. Les ateliers bilingues auront lieu en mai et en juillet 2021. 5 participant-e-s seront choisi.es et recevront un cachet de 250$ + 2 accès au Jardin botanique. CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS – The sympoiesis of an ambulatory reading circle Gisèle Trudel and Susan Turcot, along with Sylvie Laplante and Émilie Mouchous [UQAM]
An ongoingness of voices in walking along with a chapter of Staying with the Trouble: Making Kin in the Chthulucene by Donna Haraway (2016). Haraway invites to think-with-others-than-human. This activity hopes to enrichen approaches to sharing, by linking technology to the living, by expanding voices, opening up situated connections. Active listening and audio recording processes will be explored, during the walk and a circle discussion in a small group, while respecting public health instructions. The bilingual workshops will be held in May and July 2021. 5 participants will be chosen and will receive a 250$ honorarium + 2 passes to the Botanical Garden. More information here.
