✅ The first piece of good news last week was an end to the 'two-case-rule' which caused schools to spontaneously close for 10 days at a time.
✅ Second, a new opt-in period for returning to the classroom has meant more than 51,000 students will see teachers, friends and their classrooms again this month.
✅ Finally, a robust Summer Camp program has been announced for all NYC children.
- The program will be local and based at a school closest to families.
- Kids will be exposed to both academics, as well as, art, outdoor activity and field trips.
- And, the program will be in-person -- helping children transition back to school in September.
- You can find more information and sign up details here. The program is open to all children but you must sign up starting April 26.
These are important wins that show how critical it is for our community to speak up -- and for the administration to listen. This is why I will continue the fight.
