How Resilient Are You?

What is resilience?

Confronting crises and difficult situations without getting overwhelmed by them.  Being resilient can help protect you from:
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Health Issues
5 Tips for Building Resilience
  1. Maintain strong connections with family and friends:  strong,  positive relationships provides a cushion that can help you weather tough times
  2. Avoid viewing problems as insurmountable: learn from the past and be confident that you can get through current hard times
  3. Accept that change is part of living:  certain things can't be controlled; if you accept change, you can move forward in your life more easily
  4. Keep a long-term perspective and hopeful outlook:  set goals so that you can feel productive and purposeful every day and set a direction for your future
  5. Take care of your physical and mental health:  especially when feeling stressed, eat a healthy diet and get adequate sleep and excercise
