Do you get anxious? If so, how do you manage anxiety?
Exercise and Marvel movies, maybe DC movies, but they are too dark. Generally, I need to see good win over evil to inspire me to get back in the game and fight the good fight.
But seriously, who doesn’t get anxious? If someone said that they don’t get nervous, I would question that person. That’s the same as saying, "I don’t get hungry or get angry." If you are human, and not Spock, then we humans have emotions and feelings, and the struggle with life is how to address, accept, or avoid feelings.
I am part of a 12-step fellowship focus on addiction and not a single substance. I struggle with the disease of addiction. I have been clean and sober for 17 years now, as of April 12, 2004. That’s 17 years of learning, and not always succeeding, in dealing with stress. Is stress a more acceptable word choice than anxiety?
For those who say they don’t get stressed or anxious? Are they medicated, or do they suffer from some mild to severe Dissociative Identity Disorder? I sure do if the following definition is correct. Dissociation is a disconnection between a person’s thoughts, memories, feelings, actions or sense of who he or she is. This is a normal process that everyone has experienced. Examples of mild, common dissociation include daydreaming, highway hypnosis or getting lost in a book or movie, all of which involve losing touch with awareness of one’s immediate surroundings. If you have an addictive personality, like me, and remove the subject of your addictions, then what? Shopping, gambling, overeating, overworking, exercise, all these help distract the mind, some being more healthy than others. So, is the juice is worth the squeeze? I have to be ready to accept the consequences of how I deal with stress/anxiety. I forgot (or am embarrassed to say) TikTok helps with short-term anxiety.

What non-legal jobs did you hold before becoming a lawyer?
I attempted and failed with my patented Telephone Calling Card Dialer. If you are a nerd, go look up Patent number: 5963637. My grandfather had a radio store and in the 80’s, sold answering machines. You could call your house and put something over the phone, press a button, and it would talk to the answering machine, and then you could play back your messages.
I took that idea and programmed pre-paid calling card numbers into a small handheld device; put it over the phone, press a button and it would dial all those numbers so you didn’t have to. That bombed, but I learned a lot in that failure. Anyway, enough of memory lane, I have to get back to some more exciting discovery; some of our cases are so technical, you need to be a patented inventor to understand and explain these product cases in simple terms.
