Welcome Celia Connell our new Regional Manager for I CAN Queensland. Celia's first official day will be Monday 19 April 2021.
Dear Friends,
We are excited to introduce Celia Connell, our new Regional Manager for I CAN Queensland. Celia will officially start with us on Monday, 19th April 2021.
Celia is stepping sideways to I CAN Network from the Queensland State schools sector where she has worked at both Sunnybank State Special School and Alexandra Hills State High School. At Alexandra Hills SHS, Celia has served in roles including Teacher (SWD), Junior Lead Case Manager and Acting Deputy Principal (Inclusion). In these roles Celia has had extensive responsibilities including supervision of teachers, leading report writing for NCCD processes, leading the development of individual curriculum plans, leading behaviour management and at times, managing the daily operations of a large Student Support Centre (with 140 students with a disability).
Recently Celia watched James Cifuentes in action delivering a PD at Alexandra Hills SHS and loved it!
Celia has several passions which include supporting Autistic students and capacity building others. Celia's first career steps were in McDonald's where she grew to become Regional Training Advisor (Inclusion) in McDonald's Head Office Qld.
Celia has been knocking on our door for a little while and we can't wait to see her bring her passion and skill to our mission. Celia is married to Chris and has two children.
