1. Reminder:  Stakeholders Engagement
Per the invitation shared yesterday, our Stakeholders Engagement is at 10h45 on Thursday, 22 April at the Simola Hotel;  the later start is due to the fact that we need to be present in the Knysna Municipality’s Section 80 meeting to which we report.  WESGRO’s new Chief Marketing Officer, Monika Iuel, will be in attendance with us.  A reminder that activities including tourist guides, experiences, operators, etc will be given a 1-minute opportunity to tell our stakeholders “what you offer”.  Everyone is encouraged to bring a batch of business cards to the engagement.  For catering and facilitation purposes, please RSVP your attendance to Info@VisitKnysna.co.za by 10h00 on Tuesday, 20 April.

3. Tourism signage improvements
With the Knysna Municipality, we are in the process of assisting with the improvement of the generic tourism signage around the greater Knysna area:  these include the COVID-19 safety awareness boards, welcome to Sedgefield, removal of redundant structures at Buffalo Bay, new information board on the ‘Paquita’ wreck at The Heads, amongst many other subtle improvements.
4. Website video filming
Thank you to the coordination and production team, models and stakeholders that are collaborating towards the development of the content for our new videos promoting various forms of travel within the greater Knysna area, complementing itinerary suggestions.  Links to the website’s videos will be shared once they are completed and loaded.
5. An interesting article
Tourism Update this week ran an article about the “changing landscape of Africa’s source markets”.  The content therein is interesting and relevant, especially the component on ‘how to promote travel being about social proof, immersive experiences and over-delivering on value’. Please read the article - https://www.tourismupdate.co.za/article/changing-landscape-africas-source-markets
6. SATSA:  Quarantine & Isolation – for your information
FYI:  SATSA, with Hospitality Solutions, have requested their accommodation members who are interested to list their establishment on the portal offering Quarantine & Isolation facilities, this towards the anticipated opening of travel.  Once international travel has gained momentum, remember that this will be a site to which you would be able to refer.
