Last week in Cross Roads

These e-blasts are a great way to stay on top of what is going on in Cross Roads and what is coming in the future.  Please feel free to forward this to a neighbor so they can sign up and stay informed as well!
  • The agenda and associated documents for the April 19th meeting was posted to the Town's website on Monday, April 5th for citizen review.  The agenda was amended on April 15th to add an item that is time sensitive.  A redline of the amended agenda can be viewed here.
  • The Town received the draft Northeast Police Department Interlocal Agreement from the City of Krugerville on Monday, April 5th.  Several of the items discussed in the joint meeting conducted on April 8th were included in the document.  There were some additional items that were included that had not been discussed.  The Town Council will discuss the proposed amendments in consultation with legal counsel at the April 19th meeting.  Cross Roads continues to work on two parallel paths at this time.  One being negotiations with Krugerville on an Interlocal Agreement that both cities accept, the other being initial planning of creating a Cross Roads Police Department to ensure there is no lapse in police services.
  • Town Hall and the Municipal Court opened to the public on Monday, April 5th.  We have taken measures to ensure that the staff and public are protected, including limiting the number of individuals in the lobby at one time to a maximum of two due to the limited space and requiring masks.  As a reminder, our regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Save the Date! Beginning 7am on Saturday, April 24th the Parks and Recreation Board will be hosting the annual Spring Clean-Up event at the Park.  Bring your papers for shredding and computers for crushing. Roadside Cleanup Volunteers will meet at 8:30am at Town Hall.  Newman Style BBQ will be serving from their food truck 11am-2pm. More details available soon on the Parks and Recreation Board's Facebook page.
  • For those interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, please visit the Denton County Public Health Vaccine Interest Portal to view eligibility guidelines and add your name to the interest form.

The Town continues to work through the Community Visioning process with the various boards, commissions and committees.  Two additional citizen community meetings have been scheduled.  A Zoom meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 21st from 6 pm to 8 pm with the Zoom meeting information below.  The second is an in-person meeting that will be conducted at Cross Roads Town Hall on Tuesday, April 27th from 6pm to 8pm.  Detailed information on the project is available on the Town's website.
