Graduation Yard Signs Have Arrived
5th Grade Graduate yard signs have arrived! The PTA is providing a sign for each 5th grader. Signs will be handed out to parents of walkers on 4/22 and carpoolers on 4/23. Signs will available for pick up at school on 4/26 from 3-5 pm for bus riders and virtual students. If you are unable to get your child’s sign on one of these days, please email eriverswelcomedesk@gmail.com.

Yearbooks are Coming
Exciting News! Yearbooks will be on sale from April 21st-May 5th for $20.00. Buy early to take advantage of this early bird pricing. From May 6th-17th, pricing will increase to $25.00. 5th Grade Ads will be available beginning April 21st. Look for more details in Wednesday's Mid-week Lion's Roar.

Picture Day
April 23
More exciting News! Get ready to say "Cheese!" We are able to have a Spring picture day. It will take place outside on the lower field pavilion on Friday, April 23rd. All pictures will be available digitally for purchase. Virtual students will be able to come take pictures on April 28th. Please note there will be NO retakes.

Last Day to Submit Pictures for the 5th Grade Graduation Video
April 25
Please submit all pictures HERE of your 5th grader for the 5th Grade Graduation video by Sunday, April 25th to the 5th grade Shutterfly account. Feel free to include baby/toddler pictures as well as pictures from younger elementary years. Please email meganuga@aol.com with any questions.

Join the State Champion Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Team
Is your child interested in trying out for the 2021-2022 Helen Ruffin team? The team is open to rising 4th and 5th grade students who are great readers. If your child is interested in trying out, please complete this form. Please contact Ms. Boston with any questions.

APS Summer Academic Recovery
Registration begins next week for our Summer Academic Recovery Academy. The registration window will be open from April 1 through April 30. Students will have the opportunity to receive virtual or in-person instruction that will address unfinished learning and academic learning loss, provide hands-on lessons via Power Up Programming and recover course credits in an engaging, incentive-filled environment with embedded whole-child and social-emotional supports.
All students can attend and are welcome to register for our Academic Recovery Academy. However, select students will receive individual invitations and will be strongly encouraged to attend based on various academic criteria.
Our Academic Recovery Academy will be a full-day program from June 2nd through June 30th and will meet on-site at E. Rivers. The day will include an academic recovery model focusing on literacy and mathematics with our Power Up programming for students in grades K-12. Learn more on our website.

Campus Tours for Prospective Parents
Help us spread the word! E. Rivers is now offering outdoor, socially distanced tours for prospective families on April 28 and May 12 beginning at 9 a.m. Please pass the word and the registration link listed below to anyone in your neighborhood who is looking to attend E. Rivers next year. Tours will be limited to a maximum of 20 people and we ask that only adults attend. Please also remember to wear a mask.

- A Rising Kindergartener
- New to E. Rivers
- A Current student but recently moved to new address

Important Parent Reminders
Please be reminded of the following rules to maintain our students' and staff's safety during this pandemic:
- Parents are strongly encouraged to make appointments on Wednesdays or afterschool hours.
- Late Check In/ Early Check Out is for medical emergencies only. Student should stay virtual for a day in case of irregular schedules.
- We encourage all parents to avoid having multiple modes of transportation for a child throughout the week.
- In case of a Get Home Plan change, please directly communicate to the homeroom teacher by 7:30 a.m.
- The Main Office will not be able to accept drop-off items to deliver to students.
- Students will not be allowed to return to the building after school hours to retrieve items left in the classroom or school.

First, reach out to your teacher and let them know that you are having issues; they might be able to troubleshot with you first. You can call the district technology help desk at 404.802.1000.
