Rollin' into your Monday!

It's Sheila, back at it this Monday, April 12
🌞Rise and shine! Oh sure, the snooze button is tempting, but there's coffee to brew and we've got news you can use. OK fine, you can leave out the "shine" part 'til after your first cuppa joe. Let's rock 'n roll!

What's your beer sign?
No, not neon. Hey Birmingham, if you're still searching for your perfect pairing of locally made craft beer, the universe called. Turns out your astrological sign will guide you to enlightenment on this list of brews straight from the celestial realm. (But if you answered neon, you're my kind of people). 😏

It takes a village
Hoover's first entertainment district, Village Green, is aiming to be the ultimate playground that appeals to kids of all ages–even the 100 year olds. More than just legally walking around with an open container, Village Green will be a destination. Can't wait? Then head to Southside's Chez Fonfon–they're open for indoor dining now!

Check my flow
April showers bring more than May flowers. It's also the best time of year to go chasing waterfalls, and we've got 5 beauties within driving distance of Birmingham.

Save the date
The Birmingham concert scene has some serious catching up to do (thanks, Covid). Look for Secret Stages Music Discovery Festival to be back August 6-7, barring any new global pandemics, earthquakes, or asteroid strikes.

Secure and rising
Birmingham's median sale price per square foot went up 10% in one month. One. We are sittin' in high cotton, y'all.

The room where it happens
That's suite 719, the Plaza Suite, where the personal comedies that happen behind closed doors are put on stage at VST this month. Neil Simon's comedic timing is brought to life by real-life husband wife duo Thursdays-Saturdays, April 15-25. Sponsored by Virginia Samford Theatre

Test drive
Golf is experiencing a bit of a surge in popularity thanks to its natural social distancing and fresh air. Homewood's new Pebblehurst Golf & Putter Lab saw an opportunity to cater and caddy to today's golfer with a soft opening on Masters Weekend.

Monday deals
There are scads of deals from local businesses in the Bham Now Local Business Guide. Find these and more like 'em here!
Joint impact
Sure, modern medicine has high-tech joint replacements to replace most any weight-bearing joint–but they're not as resilient as the ones your mama gave you. Take care of your joints and they'll take care of you. Sponsored by Brookwood Baptist Health

2 heads are better than 1
Looking to connect industry with innovation, The Frontier Conference chose Birmingham as its home base for the annual gathering, April 13-14. For solutions to industry's issues of the day, the more brains the better.

High school girls flag football will kick off in Alabama this fall, and I have a funny P.E. story from my junior high days about that. It starts with me not knowing anything about the sport and ends with me getting a broken collar bone and spending the rest of the semester in the library for P.E., spinning Styx records in the listening room and reading every cheesy teen romance novel at Fremont Junior High. Clearly, I had Too Much Time on my Hands.
