MANZANARES ~ RIVERSSSOUNDS

MANZANARES is a new interactive online sound work for headphone listening made for the RIVERSSSOUNDS project during a residency in March 2021.

This multidimensional composition features various listening pathways. You are invited to use the scroll and switch ))) to access and flow through the intertwined soundspaces, take your time and make several visits. Sounds originate in sensory encounters with flows, environments, matters, and creatures along the entire Manzanares course, from its source to its confluence with the Jarama river. The work engages with aural vitalities and more-than-human agencies around the thresholds and beyond the limits of our habitual perception and attention.

Also, during the residency, we released MANZANARES soundwalk, a 14-minute composition for headphone listening, and held an online conversation with the RIVERSSSOUNDS team (Anamaria Pravicencu, Anna Khvyl and Zhan Pobe). Links below:

RIVERSSSOUNDS is organized by DZESTRA (Chernivtsi, UA) in partnership with SEMI SILENT / Asociaţia Jumătatea plină (Bucharest, RO) and supported by the European Union under the House of Europe programme.

CASA&CO exhibition, Casa de Velázquez, Madrid

RETIRO ~ PARLAMENTO MULTIESPECIES, a new work part of the series "Madrid sin palabras: una ecología vibrante" is currently featured in this exhibition at Casa de Velázquez. The composition is based on recordings made in El Retiro park during spring 2020 while closed to the public during the first lockdown. The work gives attention to the voices and sonic expressions of the non-human animals who inhabit this territory within the city.

Composed during a residency in Casa de Velázquez – Académie de France à Madrid in collaboration with Hangar and the Institut français Barcelona. Special thanks to the City Council of Madrid.

the exhibition runs until May 16

ATTENTION:  due to covid restrictions visitors should bring their own headphones.

As part of this exhibition and residency project I will be participating in these two events:
