Fantastic to see you this morning. Christ is Risen! Thanks for your presence.

Here's the piece upon which we reflected this morning (click on it to download a PDF, if you like).

Thanks to Rhonda for correcting my pronunciation too - it's more like dor-o-TAY ZULL. Here's a little video on how to pronounce her last name.  (I'd better learn if I quote her as much as I plan to do!)

Our conversation this morning brought to my mind this piece from Hippolytus, preached apparently around 235 AD, about the shared nature of the resurrection:
"When His cosmic battle came to an end, the heavens shook, the stars were near to falling, the sun was darkened for a time, stones were split open, and the world might well have perished, but Christ gave up His soul, saying: “Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.” And then, when He ascended, His divine spirit gave life and strength to the tottering world, and the whole universe became stable once more, as if the stretching out, the agony of the Cross, had in some way got into everything."
See you next time - Sunday, April 25 at 9:00 a.m. PST.

I just can't get enough of redwood trees. Every time I learn something new about them, I can't help but think Jesus would have pointed at them frequently, had he been teaching and preaching in Northern California. Here's a short piece I wrote last year entitled Redwoods and Resurrection.
You receive this message because you attended a Sunday morning womxn's group. If you no longer wish to receive Sunday follow-ups, just let me know. I can take you off this distribution list and keep you on the regular Saturday list.
