April 2021

Do you have a community project in mind, but are short on funds? Then make sure you apply for our $140,000 Community Matching Fund.

The funding is made up of two components - a General fund for social, recreational and cultural initiatives and an Environmental fund for projects associated with the natural environment. Grants will be "matched" on a 50/50 basis, with most grants in the $1000 to $10,000 range.

This year all applications must be submitted online. So we're hosting a few workshops across the District if you need any help with your application:

  • Tuesday 4 May from 11.30am-3.30pm at The Centre - Pātuki Manawa, Katikati
  • Wednesday 5 May from 10am-2pm at Waihi Beach Library and Service Centre
  • Monday 10 May from 11am-3pm at Te Puke Library and Service Centre
  • Tuesday 11 May from 11am-3pm at Ōmokoroa Library and Service Centre
Applications close Friday 28 May 2021 so get started by visiting our webpage at www.westernbay.govt.nz/community-matching-fund

Thanks for having fun with us
We had a great time getting out and meeting the community in their backyards in Te Puke, Te Puna and Waihi Beach at our three Love The Western Bay Community Fun Day events. All your feedback will form part of our Long Term Plan 2021-2031 as we work together to make our District even better. Watch our video looking back at the three events.

You can have your say online until Wednesday, 12 May or you can join us at our Community Open Day at 83 Ford Road on Saturday, 1 May from 10am-1pm.

Council to stop accepting cheques
