Do you hold collections that include the stories and histories of underrepresented groups in your community (Women, Indigenous, Franco-Ontarian, Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, LGBTQ, Non-Christian Religions, and others)? Those groups are the subject of the CLIR: Digitizing Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Amplifying Unheard Voices grant goals.

Perhaps you heard of the CLIR grant in OurDigitalWorld's recent newsletter or from another source, but we wanted to bring it to your attention: this is an excellent opportunity to consider applying for funding to digitize and make accessible those collections, to increase public knowledge and add to the breadth of representation in our shared histories online.

The grant funds digitization of analogue materials otherwise unavailable online and can include staffing, digitization equipment, third party digitization vendors, and online platforms for discovery.

OurDigitalWorld is here to support any projects you want to propose, either by providing project management expertise or estimates for digitization activities, and as a potential partner for the project to provide digital file processing and/or the VITA Digital Toolkit as the online platform for the resulting collections.

The deadline for the initial application is April 30, 2021. Shortlisted applicants will enter a second round of applications due July 30, 2021. Funded projects are to start in April 2022.

Please explore the CLIR website to ensure your eligibility, then contact us with any questions or complete this form for a free estimate or contact Jess Posgate, Projects Coordinator, at jposgate@ourdigitalworld.org

We look forward to hearing from you and helping to make your collections accessible and discoverable!
