CCIE DUES FOR 2021 - 2022
CCIE wants to remind all our members that, now, more than ever, it is important to pay your dues.  CCIE dues are collected on the academic year - July 1 - June 30.
It is critical that every member be current with their dues in order for CCIE to continue to support activities such as the Newsletter, Web-Page listing and Institutional Grants, Faculty Grant, and Student Scholarships. CCIE does appreciate the effort that all of you are doing to help support international education at our colleges. However, advocacy needs to continue on many levels, and support of CCIE is central in this process. For questions regarding dues, please contact Edgar Hernandez: ehernandez39@ohlone.edu

Announcing The IIE American Passport Project
It has long been part of IIE’s mission to increase participation and diversity in study abroad, so that all students can gain the academic and career benefits of international experience. To achieve that, IIE announces the IIE American Passport Project.
With the competition launch in 2021, IIE will award funds to U.S.- based IIENetwork member colleges and universities so that they can help their first-year students who are eligible for Pell grants to obtain a US passport. For students of limited means or from underserved communities, studying abroad can require thoughtful, long-term planning. Focusing this program on first-year students gives them time to map out a plan with their advisors to incorporate study abroad into their college career.

Postsecondary Leadership Success Program Fellows
The Postsecondary Leadership Success Program is a yearlong professional development experience intended to develop the organizational leadership and management skills of postsecondary CTE professionals, with an emphasis on addressing the needs of underserved populations. Fellows who are selected to join this program will build their leadership skills by working as a team with a dedicated mentor, attend monthly webinars with well-known guest speakers, be eligible to earn two semester hours graduate education credit from The Ohio State University, and earn a stipend. The highly diverse cohorts of leaders have received mentoring, trainings, and access to a network of support and expertise to help them be the best leader they strive to be. The application period is open for the third cohort of PLSP Fellows. They are looking for CTE professionals who are responsible for adult students and/or adult postsecondary programs; have two or more years’ experience in leadership and/or administration in a community college, career center, or university offering certificate or associate degree programs or CTE-related organization with regular contact with postsecondary students; and have an interest in addressing the needs of underserved population.

French Embassy “Community College in France” Programs
The French Embassy is offering affordable, high quality academic and professional study abroad opportunities for Community College students. We are very impressed with community colleges’ internationalization efforts and would be delighted to welcome your students in our programs. In 2019, the overall feedback of the students was extremely positive with over 87% of them saying they had an excellent or very good experience.
As a result of the ongoing pandemic and the uncertainty of international travel, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States have made the decision to offer virtual Bootcamps in 2021. We are proud to offer a high-quality, interactive online experience to your students.
The innovative and collaborative online opportunities allow students to still participate in an intercultural experience and broaden their academic perspectives. Students will be able to apply to the below programs, supported by the French Embassy:
The ENSAD (Higher College of Decorative Arts) will offer an online workshop on sustainable design. Through interviews and a digital workspace, students will create and co-develop a sustainable project for their community. Take a look at their program! (Students can apply between April 1st and 20th).
Polytech Montpellier offers an online summer school dedicated to the study of Grand Industrial Challenges for students interested in science. With FLOW, students can choose from 3 different tracks and will develop their project management and intercultural skills. (Students can apply ASAP).
A "Carte blanche" Scholarship: the Cultural Services of the French Embassy puts students in charge! They will be able to choose from a wide range of summer programs organized by French institutions and apply for funding.
Bootcamps 2022 – we will confirm the programs in autumn 2021. To get an idea of what they might look like, take a look at the flyer of the Female Business Founders Bootcamp, one of the 4 Bootcamps originally planned in 2021.
