May 2021 newsletter from Epiphany House, Truro
Welcome to our May newsletter

We are delighted to be able say that we are cautiously opening our doors! We have been able to allow some use of the new ensuite bedrooms as they have external access and are therefore ‘self-contained’. We are looking forward to being able to open more fully, all being well, on May 17th when we will be able to welcome people back into the House and offer some refreshment. This does mean that we can begin to take bookings for personal retreats and quiet days, and that we are beginning to plan some organised retreats and quiet days. We will inform all those of you who expressed an interest as soon as these dates are confirmed.  Also we will be hosting a Miracle Theatre Production in the gardens again this year on 20th and 21st August (with limited numbers, pre-booked only) – more details in the next Newsletter. If the ‘road map’ goes to plan we should be able to fully open on June 21st and then we can plan for an official opening of the new extension and invite our friends and supporters to ‘come and see’.  We are having to learn a new way of working which includes more risk assessments, more cleaning and sanitising, and more social distancing. Your prayers as we tentatively move forward will be much appreciated.
A poem by Jan Richardson for Ascension Day (May 13th)
"They worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy" (Luke 24:52)

In the leaving

In the leaving,
in the letting go,
let there be this
to hold onto
at the last:

the enduring of love,
the persisting of hope,
the remembering of joy,

the offering of gratitude,
the receiving of grace,
the blessing of peace.

Reduced hours and staff
We are re-opening as much as we are able given the restrictions in place due to the current guidelines. However, we have fewer staff now and they are mostly on reduced hours, so we cannot be open and available every day of the week. We ask for your patience if we are not available to answer your telephone call or email immediately.

Epiphany House has a team of experienced Spiritual Accompaniers who will be more than happy to make a phone call to those who may be struggling or feeling isolated at this time.
