Endless Covid!

I never thought we would be fighting Covid a year later, but here we are. The third wave is starting in Manitoba and I imagine that everything will be shut down once again. And to top it off; we have a blizzard today!
The good news for our family is that my husband has been vaccinated and I am going to get vaccinated on Wednesday. That means, that by the beginning of May we will both have certain degree of immunity and I will feel safer opening up my studio to clients. It has been a year of shutting down and opening up again; frustrating to say the least.
At this point, with case numbers going up because of more dangerous variants, I will be photographing a limited number of clients in the studio. The good news is that warmer weather is sure to come and outdoor sessions will be an option. It is a safer alternative for everyone and there are many beautiful spots in and around Winnipeg. I charge a minimal fee for driving to locations that are more than 20 minutes away, but there are many places that are closer to my studio like: Kilcona Park, Kildonan Park, Birds Hill Park and Waterfront Drive.

I hope we all can get vaccinated soon and life can get back to "normal."

Spirit of Hope Rescue Fundraiser!

For the past month, I 've been doing a fundraiser for Spirit of Hope Rescue. These are the people that we have adopted 2 dogs from. 7 years ago we adopted Zara, who, as one of my clients put it is "my heart dog." Zara puts a smile on my face, warm fuzzies in my heart and I love her to pieces!  2 months ago we adopted Kassidy, who has become an important member of our family. Kassidy is learning the rules and is a sweet affectionate girl.

Spirit of Hope Rescue is a volunteer-run, foster-based, non-profit dog rescue that works with more than 38 Indigenous communities in Manitoba. SOHR has rescued over 3500 dogs in the last 9 years. They have up to 115 dogs in foster care at any given time!  They average up to 63 adoptions per month! In 2020 alone SOHR rescued 546 dogs.

I feel that the best way I can help Spirit of Hope is through my photography. That being said, I am offering a dog photography session with 1 8x10 print for your donation of $50 to SOHR. This session can include your family, but only 2 adults are allowed in the studio (because of Covid). I plan to continue this offer until the end of April, but let me know if you would like a session later in the spring. I can schedule you for later in the year.

Call or email me if you are interested. These sessions can be done outdoors if you would prefer. That is after the snow is gone!

Thank you to everyone who has supported SOHR and had their dog's pictures taken in the studio.
