The Women's Mosque of America

:: In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate::

Salaam everyone,

Ramadan Mubarak! Today, we are launching our Lessons from Historical Muslim Women Ramadan series, and we are exclusively sharing the entire first week with you -- our loyal supporters -- before we share them with anyone else!

Every day this month, expect to be amazed and inspired as you learn spiritual lessons drawn from a new #HistoricMuslimah of the day! You will learn about the brave woman who Malala is named after, you will learn a new way to understand the Queen of Sheba's story through a framework that honors her achievements, and you will learn about the trailblazing Muslim woman whose name was deliberately erased from history but whose hard work paved the way for this year's first woman president of Tanzania!

Through this historic series, we are taking ownership over our narrative as Muslim women and sharing the inspiring history that we know is important for everyone to remember, the stories that should be mainstream knowledge in every household:

The powerful legacy and impact of Muslim women's contributions throughout Islamic history.

Best of all, you will be hearing from our modern-day Muslim sheroes who have graced our mosque with their spiritual wisdom, courageous leadership, and religious guidance through their roles as khateebahs, mu'adthinahs, and mosque leaders at The Women's Mosque of America -- the first women-led Muslim house of worship in our nation's history.

After you've enjoyed learning about each day's #HistoricMuslimah, we ask you to please SHARE on social media with your friends & family and encourage them to sign up as a monthly recurring donor this Ramadan to support our mosque and movement to uplift the Muslim Ummah by empowering Muslim women and girls.

Most importantly, because you are our loyal supporter, please consider making a contribution yourself this Ramadan to keep our mosque and movement going. If everyone who sees this email signs up to
give a monthly recurring donation, we will not only be able to sustain our mosque for the upcoming year, but we will be able to successfully expand our team, our mission, and our vision to spark a women-led Islamic Renaissance -- one that is led by Muslim women's voices, participation, scholarship, and leadership -- inshAllah.

May Allah shower you and everyone you love with mercy, ease, and endless blessings this Ramadan, and may we all experience a beautiful month of peace that purifies our souls and rejuvenates our spirits for the year ahead. Ameen!

With Love and Gratitude,
The Women's Mosque of America Team

Begum Rokeya coined the slogan, "Wake up, Sisters!" and paved the way for Bangladeshi Muslim women to live to their full potential through her creation of the Islamic Women's Association in 1916.
