An Update From The Session
Effective 4/18, session approved the following for Central Presbyterian Church:
  • We begin singing two hymns per service, with congregants doing "conversational singing" (in a normal, lower volume than regular singing) while keeping masks in place.
  • The Cleaning Team will continue its work after each worship service.
  • We continue to ask all persons present to wear face masks inside the building.
  • Worship will be held outdoors the last Sunday of each month at the Ute Shelter in Deming Park, weather permitting.  We will start park services at 10:45 am in order to give those who accidentally went to the building time to join us.
  • Internal and external groups will be permitted to use the building, provided they follow the Building Use Policy and the cleaning protocols in effect.
  • We will resume Fellowship Time following worship, though for the time being we will not offer food or drink, we ask all to keep their masks in place and that we practice social distancing.  In good weather we will hold Fellowship Time outdoors.
We are cautiously optimistic and excited for these updates to our worship and fellowship time together as we work toward resuming "normal" activity. We appreciate your adherence to church guidelines as we work to keep everyone safe.
"Standing With the Asian Community" online Zoom vigil will be held on
Sunday, April 25th from 4-5 p.m.

Our own Sinwon Racop is one of seven speakers.  The event is presented by the Interfaith Council of the Wabash Valley, the SIsters of Providence and the Terre Haute Branch of the NAACP.  This is an important way that we can show love and support for our Asian-American friends and neighbors, and stand against hate. Zoom link to be posted on the THCPC Family page as soon as it is available

Join us on Zoom Sunday at 9:30am for virtual fellowship before our worship service! All are welcome, we love seeing your face and hearing what you've been up to.

We are starting a video and discussion series by N.T. Wright that gives a basic overview of the New Testament.  You can participate in any or all of these lessons.  This could be a great time to try out Bible Study and Brew!"

Citizen Climate Lobby - Wabash Valley Chapter
The Citizen Climate Lobby is a nonpartisan organization of everyday citizens across the country who advocate for federal carbon fee and dividend legislation. Morning prayer:
Eternal God,
who committest to us the swift and solemn trust of life;
since I know not what a day may bring forth,
but only that the hour for serving Thee is always present,
may I wake to the instant claims of Thy holy will;
not waiting for tomorrow, but yielding today.
In all things draw me to the mind of Christ, that ...
Thou mayest own me as at one with Him and Thee.
Amen.
   -- James Martineau (1805-1900)
Evening prayer:
On going to bed:
let me be mindful of Thy Name,
O Lord, in the night,
and keep Thy law.
Let my evening prayer ascend to Thee,
and Thy Mercy descend to me;
Thou that givest songs in the night;
that makest the outgoings of the morning
and evening to praise Thee;
that givest to Thy beloved the sleep of health.
Amen.
   -- Lancelot Andrewes (1555-1626)
