Next Pulse Session: Aboriginal Experiences of Housing First

Join us for the launch of the Zero Project snapshot on Aboriginal experiences of Housing First. The UWA snapshot shares stories and experiences of Aboriginal people, and explores key learnings for Housing First programs in an Aboriginal context. We will also hear from artist Anthea Corbett, representatives from Noongar Mia Mia and Wungening Aboriginal Corporation about the new Mia Moort Project.

Past Pulse Session: No Wrong Door & Regional Roundup

Participants gave an update on homeless counts carried out across the regional areas of Bunbury, Geraldton, Mandurah, Rockingham and Margaret River. We also heard an update on the No Wrong Door initiative as part of the Department of Communities 10-Year Strategy on Homelessness 2020–2030.

Working to the theme Advocating for Change, event organisers of the Unconvention series invited the Alliance to highlight how they have begun to create long lasting social change through their “this is a movement” philosophy.

Housing First Survey

Community Housing Providers and Specialist Homelessness Service Providers have by now been sent a link to a Housing First survey asking what the approach means for your services. The Alliance received funding from Lotterywest to carry out the survey. If you represent a CHP and would like to participate email hello@endhomelessnesswa.com.

Zero Project - A Series of Housing First 'Bite Size Chats'

Come and explore how different parts of the world put 'Housing First' into practice. The Zero Project will be conducting a series of short interview style 30 minute discussions, with a variety of people from Europe and Australia.

COVID-19 is having an impact on everyone, particularly for those who have no place to call home. This national forum will explore the impact COVID-19 has had and is having on people sleeping rough, what action is being taken and what more needs to occur.

Ending Homelessness is possible, this session will explain how communities around the world are demonstrating this and how communities in Australia are seeking to implement the Zero Homelessness Methodology though the AAEH’s Advance to Zero Campaign.

Shelter WA and Curtin University's Faculty of Business and Law are hosting a four-part economic lecture series – Housing economics for non economists. These lectures will interest anyone keen to learn more about the push and pull factors that affect the WA housing economy.
