Welcome to the latest version of the youth update. I've included the latest guidance for youth groups resuming, with links to further advice. Do please get in touch with any other questions as I'm aware that individual circumstances vary and it can be frustrating navigating all of the rules!

Have a look at the information on the relay to COP26 too, this is a brilliant opportunity for your youth group. There are also some great new resources included in here to have a look at - which can be used whether meeting in your church building or online.
With prayers for new beginnings in this new season.
God bless,

Simon

Latest Covid Guidance

Following the latest changes from April 12th, the Church of England Guidance has been changed. It points to the NYA website and guidance for youth groups who have lowered their alert to Amber levels.
.
The Amber level allows youth groups to resume indoors and outdoors as long as they adhere to the strict covid guidelines. Last week the NYA hosted a webinar which was very helpful and can be viewed here. A summary page of the advice can be found here.

RELAY to COP26

Ahead of the global leaders' gathering in Glasgow at the beginning of November, the Young Christian Climate Network are coordinating a relay of walks between the G7 summit in St Ives, Cornwall from 11th-13th June to reach Glasgow by October 30th ahead of the COP26 gathering on November 1st.

We would love to have some walks through Worcestershire and Dudley in the summer as part of this gathering. Please get in touch to register your youth group's interest in taking part and I will be able to communicate with you as plans gather pace. This will be a great way to engage with issues of climate justice that are so crucial. There are other ways to get involved too, for example through virtual events and prayer calendars.
The National Youth Agency (NYA) are undertaking a National Census of Youth Sector Activities to help inform the upcoming Comprehensive Spending Review and shape strategies for workforce development, training and support.

Over 16,000 organisations that deliver youth services or related activities in England have been identified, but there are still many others who provide services and activities to young people, and the NYA are conscious that a large proportion of that will come from within our community.

To ensure we are well represented, please take 2 minutes to register and make your individual (and our collective) response count.

ROUNDED: Ready for Life, is a new Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development resource for 16-19s in college and beyond comprising six interactive, flexible-format sessions covering different character dispositions which can help young people prepare for an ethical and fruitful life.

The six ROUNDED themes are common to many religions and worldviews, in a broad Christian perspective which also invites students of all faiths and beliefs to share their reflections.

Each ROUNDED topic is covered through a 10 minute interactive PowerPoint film and a menu of supporting activities which can be selected according to the size and needs of your group and the time and space available.

ROUNDED is available FOR FREE in a downloadable zip file from the WM Churches’ FE Council website.

ROUNDED was commissioned by WM Churches’ FE Council created by Simeon Whiting, designed by Mazo Creative agency, with images by Craig Gilman and voice work by Saltmine Theatre Company.  It was produced with grants from St Peter’s Saltley Trust, Jerusalem Trust, Westhill Endowment, St Christopher’s Educational Trust and the Friends Hall Farm Street Trus
