Welcome back students and families!
After a long year of virtual classes, we are so excited to welcome you back to in-person classes this summer! Also, we will offer virtual options for each session, so you may choose how you would like your students to experience our curriculum.
While we are happy to be in-person this summer, we want to let you know about the COVID-19 precautions that we will implement during all of our in-person sessions.
We used the current IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health) guidelines when we designed our courses. We are limiting our class sizes to ten in-person students, and we will be requiring students, faculty, staff, and visitors to wear masks while in the building. Temperature checks will be administered daily to anyone entering the building, and we will require signed COVID-19 waivers before the first day of camp.
Students will be allowed to remove masks at specific points throughout the day, such as solo singing and monologue work. Singing is still considered a riskier activity according to IDPH and NATS (National Associate of Teachers of Singing), so we will be limiting singing in large groups and monitoring the latest research.
We live in an ever-changing world, and new pandemic-related information comes out daily. If IDPH guidelines change as we get closer to Day One of camp, we will reevaluate our COVID-19 safety measures and the appropriateness of offering in-person instruction. If you have any other questions or concerns about our COVID-19 safety measures during summer camp, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to seeing you back in our studio, and we are excited to be part of your arts education journeys!
Sincerely,
Lindsay Cummings
