I'd normally like to begin a newsletter sharing some good news and while there is plenty of that, sometimes the urgent matters need to come first. Read on below...
Nyarutooma School Boarders' House. Kashekuro, Uganda
Our builders in Uganda are ready for the next stage of construction but we need to raise $4000 ASAP! We’ll be holding a fundraiser shortly to fund the remainder of the project but the materials for the flooring need to be purchased by the end of the week. Can you help out? If all of our followers gave just $20 each we’d fund the whole thing! Please give what you can via our website - here
Haven of Hope Children's Shelter. Mancherial, India The books were received on Christmas Eve last year and the library has been set up. We've had reports of the children loving the new space and check out that book display, so pretty.
Thank You. A huge thank you to the Williams Family from Albion Park for their generous donation of children’s books and jigsaw puzzles. They will be split between Haven of Hope in India and Shepherds Arms Children’s Home in Philippines. Special mention also goes to Julie Gaughan for organising, sorting and cleaning the books. If you’d like to donate to our book drive for these two projects please reply to this email.
Thank You. Caboolture Crazy Quilters HPI Members, Ursula & Peter Mack were presented with two donated quilts from Debbie, the President of the Caboolture Crazy Quilters. These two quilts are just gorgeous and it's amazing to see the skill that has gone into them. Keep an eye out for these quilts as auction items at an upcoming fundraiser.
Thank You. Huge shout out to those who regularly recycle their eligible containers through Containers for Change and Return & Earn. We have raised $440.50 since October. It's a really simple process, please contact us for further information.
Seek Volunteer. We're looking for a new member of the managing committee to fill the role of Secretary.
The Secretary is primarily responsible for managing the non-financial records of HPI, for example call and convene meetings, prepare the meeting agenda, take and circulate the minutes of our meetings and coordinate correspondence. Have a read of the full role description here and apply accordingly.
That's all from me today. If you have any questions about anything in this newsletter please don't hesitate to contact me or any of the committee.
