Spring is here!

Hope it is warming up and the grass is turning green and the trees are budding wherever each of you are. I do love seeing the season change from winter to spring. When all nature seems dead asleep. But then there is the slow stretch of all coming back to life day by day.

Here there are daffodils that always come first, the pink tulips along the pathway are next. In May, these purple flowers that always remind me of my mother-in-law come up around Mother's Day. The dogwood trees deep in the woods surprise me when I take a walk. That splash of white linen blossoms clothe  the dogwoods while the other trees stand there naked because it is only the beginning of April.

It is comforting to be able to notice these things here. I don't know if it was the moving around a lot because my husband is a Marine, retired but still a Marine :) or maybe I just never really paid attention to the natural world around me as much as I do here. When you live in one place you notice the rhythms within your small world much more. Someday this may get old, but for now I am content and happy, I am learning how to be planted.

"Don't dig up in doubt what you planted in faith." Elisabeth Elliot

It is easy to fall for the lie that if you cannot see growth than growth isn't happening. But growth happens for seeds beneath the dirt. Hidden away covered in nutrients, given rain for water and sun for warmth. Growth is happening.

Faithful things are perfected things. We do the faithful part and God does the perfected part.

Here are a few Spring things to take a look at:
