The BallenIsles Wildlife Foundation (BIWF) invites you to join us this Thursday, April 15, at 4 p.m. at the Purple Martin birdhouse behind the practice chipping green (house A). We will lower the house and remove each nest box in all 12 “apartments” to check for nests and eggs. Last Thursday 7 of the 12 “apartments” had nests and eggs. We might have newborns this week, but if not, we will for sure next week. We encourage you to share this awesome experience with us. And you should know that Purple Martins don’t mind our gentle curiosity in the least.

We plan to check all three houses (donated to BallenIsles by BIWF), starting with house A, at 4 p.m. every Thursday until the young Purple Martins fledge sometime in June.  We hope you will come to see this marvel of nature “up close and personal.”
