Transcending Disciplines to address Regional Water Equity

We’re excited to share the news that colleagues Jackie Smith (Sociology), Noble Maseru (Schools of the Health Sciences), Marcela González Rivas (GSPIA), Caitlin Schroering (Sociology), and the Collaboratory Leadership team (Emily Elliott, Daniel Bain, Eitan Shelef, Eric Perry, and Megan Guy) are the recipients of the 2021 Pitt Momentum Funds Teaming Grant for our project, Transcending Disciplines to Advance Regional Water Equity. Community Water Fluoridation Status in PA

In collaboration with the Pitt School of Dental Medicine and PA Coalition for Oral Health, the Collaboratory has created a briefing document on the importance of fluoridation. Learn more about fluoridation and if your water supply is fluoridated in this interactive map.

Meet our Summer Interns

This summer, we will be hosting 3 summer water interns! Taylor Laing, Aaron Carr, and Justin Fekete will be working on water research projects in collaboration with a community partner. Join us in welcoming them all. Stay tuned for more detailed research spotlights!

Summer Discussion Series

Join us for our Summer Water Discussion series! This series is designed to create opportunities for data discussion and idea sharing among students and other researchers working on research related to "water". We meet bi-weekly Wednesdays at 12:00 starting 5/26. RSVP to pittwater@pitt.edu for zoom link and password.

3 Rivers Waterkeeper Collaboration

We're excited to be working with 3 Rivers Waterkeeper over the next year! Through Pitt's Year of Engagement, we've received funding to conduct quarterly sampling at 25 tributaries in collaboration with the Waterkeeper. Stay tuned for more information this summer!
