Greetings <<First Name>>,

Spring has sprung early in northwest lower Michigan and your trail team partners are busy planning and working to ensure that the momentum continues to build as we keep focused on our goal to develop a world class trail connecting Traverse City and Charlevoix and all points in between. This year we look forward to the completion of the Acme Connector Trail, design engineering progress between Acme and Elk Rapids, and exploring opportunities to build connections between Elk Rapids and Norwood. We’ll keep you posted on our progress and wish you a pleasant season on whatever trails you happen upon.

In our last trail report, we sought public input following a December meeting where a proposed route connecting the Lake to Lake Trail at Bell’s Bay Road down to Clipperview Road south of Charlevoix was presented in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. We had great participation and the response was overwhelmingly positive. The project team is currently working with community partners to ensure that trail design and routing reflects and incorporates the goals and values of our partners and the public. We'll continue providing updates as work continues to determine the best possible route that matches the values of the community and respects the area's special natural features.

Trails are so much more than just pavement and boardwalk. They are the connections to each other, the places we love and to ourselves. They are the physical manifestation of the incredible things we can achieve when we work together, as a bold visionary community. Investing in trails is investing in people, which is why our project team is working hard to ensure that the Nakwema Trailway reflects the values and the visions of the communities that it will connect directly to. Stay with us as we continue to plan a world class trail that will provide non-motorized recreation and transportation for residents and visitors to this beautiful corner of the world for generations to come.

"The Nakwema Trailway will create connections between communities and deliver one-of-a-kind experiences, two outcomes 4Front Credit Union holds dear. We cherish every opportunity to make a difference in a member’s life and appreciate the financial paths they’ve traveled previously. Biking and banking are two very different activities, but they share the common goals of close connections and unique experiences. It was an easy decision for 4Front to participate in the Nakwema Trailway project, an effort that will further connect our region and offer one of the country’s most unique and vibrant trail experiences."
