While supplies last!
We couldn't think of a better start to Earth Week than by announcing that
honeybees are flying their way to Aon Center!

Coming mid-June, Aon Center will be home to our own hive of friendly honeybees. We’re proud to take part in the movement for a more eco-conscious city by installing a beehive on our Upper West Plaza. Our bees will pollinate the urban flora that surrounds us during the summer. At the end of the season, we’ll harvest their honey and share it with our community.

Scared of stings? Don’t fret! Bees really aren’t interested in human beings. They have one goal, and one goal only: to collect nectar and pollen from flowers and bring it back to their hive to ensure their colony's development.

Our project is realized in collaboration with Alvéole, a social beekeeping company. Each hive creates greater ecological awareness, allowing city dwellers to reconnect with nature and adjust their sense of responsibility towards the environment.

This season, discover the ties that bind us to bees and the flora and fauna that surround us, right here in the city. Populations of bees, butterflies, bumblebees and other pollinators are in rapid decline all over the world. Bees pollinate more than 130 varieties of fruits and vegetables around the globe- that’s a third of our food supply. With these new tenants onsite, we'll be supporting our ecosystem by helping to increase the bee population. Click here to follow our bees and to be the first to learn about bee news and events.

Moore Landscapes

Moore Landscapes is committed to beauty and sustainable practices. Below are a few ways Moore does more at Aon Center!
  • Plant palettes are selected to support biological diversity, include appropriate native plants, and are site-appropriate to minimize resource consumption while maintaining design and performance.
  • Plants are purchased locally to reduce fuel consumption, shipping resources, and to increase plant survivability.
  • Plastic pots from landscape plants are gathered, sorted and returned to growers for recycling.
  • Landscape waste (herbaceous and woody plant material) is collected, shredded and screened, aged and then tested for future use as compost
