April Meeting
Meet our Alameda County Assessor & East Bay Regional Park District Director
Tuesday, April 20, 2021

We took a break in March, but we're back this month with two very special guests for our April meeting!
Got questions about how property is assessed in our neighborhood? Alameda County Assessor Phong La will join us with answers. First elected in 2018, Assessor La leads the office responsible for locating all taxable property in the County, establishing its taxable value, and applying any legal exemption. He'll give us an overview of Alameda County Assessor’s Office services, as well as how the recent passage of Prop 19 impacts Alameda County residents.
Then, we'll hear from East Bay Regional Park District Director (Ward 2) & Board President Dee Rosario. With summer nearly upon us and pandemic restrictions beginning to ease, it's never been a better time to safely get out for some fresh air. Director Rosario will provide a brief update on what's going on in the nature that surrounds us, and he looks forward to your questions.

More than 12 homes in Longfellow and Santa Fe (the neighborhood directly north of us) will host Yard Sales this Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Are you a housing provider who is owed rent?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, the City wants you to know that you may qualify for help from its Keep Oakland Housed COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program.

What's the Pulse of the Neighborhood?
As the pandemic eases and it becomes safer to resume more activities, what would you like to see from your neighborhood association? Are you ready for some socially-distanced, in-person gatherings, or would you prefer to stay all virtual for the foreseeable future? What topics might we explore in our meetings? Is there a particular speaker you'd like to meet?
The LCA Board would love to get a sense of how neighbors are feeling and how we can best support each other in the weeks and months ahead. Please let us know what you're thinking.

Speaking of the Board... LCA is led by an all-volunteer Board composed of neighbors who live and/or work in Longfellow. The Board is eager to welcome new perspectives and is actively seeking new members. If you are interested in serving on the Board, let us know!
