In the first half of a two-part mini-series, join the Golden Gate Restaurant Association for an open and honest conversation about the realities of re-opening and keeping your restaurant open recovering from a year of closures, reopenings, and the economic impact of COVID-19. Hear from restaurant owners/operators around the city about the challenges facing their businesses, from street conditions in their neighborhoods, hotel and retail closures, and the costs to open safely. What has worked in making the shared spaces and outdoor dining feel inviting? How has the 50% indoor dining allowance helped? Now that onsite restrictions are opening up, how is that impacting takeout and delivery? How have operators kept their spaces safe in the midst of a housing crisis? Panelists include Cassandra Costello, Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Executive Programs San Francisco Travel AssociationVinny Eng, Coalition Member, CART SFSupervisor Rafael Mandelman*, from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors representing District 8, and Captain April Sloan from the San Francisco Fire Department.
