I'm So Excited About Our New Board Members!!!
(Excited enough that I felt the need to use three exclamation points in that heading!)
When we decided to expand Awake's Board of Directors, we trusted that God would help us connect with the right people to serve in this way - and wow, did He come through for us!
You can read the bios of our four new board members in this week's blog post, but suffice it to say, each person brings a unique set of gifts, skills, and experiences that will be really valuable in guiding our young organization in the next stages of our growth. Most importantly, these amazing individuals are committed to our mission and enthusiastic about serving.
Today, I am filled with hope and gratitude:
- To new members Deirdre Dempsey, Shelly Roder, Elaine Steele, and Jim Ward, I say - Thank you for saying YES to our mission! I can't wait to work with you in the year ahead.
- To Elizabeth Zimmer and Jerri von den Bosch, our board president and secretary - Thank you for all of your hard work in the past few months and your continued commitment to Awake's mission. You are such a gift.
- To Jim Cauley, our outgoing board member and treasurer - Thank you for all you have done to bring Awake to this point. We couldn't have done it without you!
And to everyone reading this newsletter - Thank you for being part of the Awake community and making this ministry possible with your prayers, engagement, and support. I am so glad to be united with you in this effort, and I can't wait to see where God leads us next.

This week the Awake Blog is pleased to introduce you to the four newest members of the Awake Board of Directors. It’s a hopeful time for our organization.
"This is an important moment for Awake, as it marks the first time we have brought on new leadership members since our founding in 2019,” explains Elizabeth Zimmer, president of Awake’s board. “I think it represents the steady growth of our grassroots ministry. It shows that we’re reaching Catholics who share a passion for supporting survivors and making a difference in our Church."
