Hello, what's up, and welcome to the Lite + Brite newsletter.
Remember us?
Tonight we're celebrating the first anniversary of Brian's weekly radio program, No Humans Allowed. The theme is Cyber Texas, featuring an exclusive interview with Adam Jones, who plays in the band S U R V I V E (whose members did the Stranger Things soundtrack) and runs the Austin synth and electro label Holodeck Records. Expect to hear lots of leftfield synth artists from right here in the Lone Star State, played by Brian and guest co-host Niki Nash. That's at 10pm CT on kpiss.fm.
If vaccination trends continue on pace, we're going to properly resume this newsletter in a few weeks. As a reminder, that means weekly listings of unusual and atypical Austin events alongside a reasonable amount of self-promotion. For example, last night Leila went to an art installation in a stranger's backyard, which is the sort of thing that this newsletter is made for. If you, too, wish to attend art installations in stranger's backyards, then stay tuned. And tell your friends to sign up. We are getting back to business, and you won't want to miss it.
Every Monday at 8pm we stream a dance party in the dark at Twitch. This coming week will be Leila's birthday NLNL, so expect a disproportionate amount of indie and britpop, as per the birthday girl's demands. Tune in then, and watch this space for info as hopefully later this year it will be safe to return to in-person NLNLs.
What is No Lights No Lycra?
Austin's weekly judgment-free, substance-free, high-impact dance thing in the dark. It's a DJ night that's not at the club, a workout that's not at the gym, a personal meditation that's anything but silent. Read more about us in the Austin Chronicle. Give us a listen every Monday from 8-9:30pm CT on Twitch.
Who are we?
We make this newsletter. We put on No Lights No Lycra each week. We do some other stuff here and there. We love going out to creative events in Austin, and we want you to join us. Visit us at http://liteandbriteatx.com/
