You can 3D print metal?

Metal 3D printing has been around for a while, but been relegated to big and complex low-volume parts where the exorbitant price could be justified. No consumer products were made this way as the price was too high and the volumes far too low.

This is the dawn of a new era. We've partnered with 3DEO, an additive manufacturing startup based in Los Angeles. Their propriety and novel technology combines cutting-edge 3D printing technology with the speed and dependability of CNC milling. The result is the first metal 3D printer capable of true mass production with dimensional accuracy matching CNC and cost matching cast parts. This is a manufacturing revolution and Blackland is on the leading edge.

We approached 3DEO about eighteen months ago and began the journey together that would lead to the Era. The Era's top cap and base plates were twice the size of the largest parts they'd ever printed before and far more complicated. We also have incredibly high standards because our customers expect nothing less than perfection. This was going to take some effort. So we've spent the last year and a half working hand-in-hand to create something nobody ever has before - a mass produced consumer product 3D printed in metal. We developed and continually tweaked and optimized a design specifically for their tech and they worked tirelessly to advance their technology to handle the Era.

It wasn't easy because innovation never is. We've overcome more road blocks than I can count and it's been the most frustrating and rewarding project I've personally ever embarked on. That hard work has paid off with the most versatile, highest-performing, and least expensive razor we've ever made. The Era is truly the future and I couldn't be prouder.

For the last five years we've made a business selling the best razors in the world at the price point you'd expect for a high quality product. High quality and high price. You get what you pay for.

With five levels of aggressiveness in both open comb and safety bar, there’s an Era combination perfect for your skin and beard type. Sensitive skin or maybe you’re new to DE razors? Safety bar Level One or Two is the ticket. Looking for the most efficiency possible to hack through your fishing line whiskers? Pick up a Level Four or Five in open comb to get the job done. Whatever your need or preference, there’s an Era for you. If you don't know what you need we'll help you pick the perfect combo based on your experience. Every Era ships with six grip rings that lock into grooves in the handle to give you the option of a bit more grip if you need it. Use as many as you'd like or none at all. Experiment and find the setup that gives you the performance and feel you're looking for.
