1st quarter in a nutshell 🥜

Hi there! How have you been? Here comes our latest update with the news for the last 3 months.

As a cultural foundation, we aim to launch and develop art initiatives in the Baltic Sea region. One of our goals in 2021 is to launch a new project about the cultural identity of people around the Baltic Sea together with our partners from Sweden, Poland, and Russia.

For that to happen, we were working hard in the 1st quarter of 2021 and accomplished a lot. We designed a presentation for the project on cultural identity, applied for the Swedish Institute grant, and had 10 meetings with the potential partners and donors.

Of course, we carry on with our daily routines. We worked pretty hard on organisational tasks, and happy to say, that we successfully accomplished 36 of them. We have received 560 euro donations on Patreon in 3 months. Our expenses were 877 euros.

While we are working on future offline events, we do not waste a minute and run great online events.

💛 Inspiring Facebook Lives talks with art managers, artists, and creators. We discuss such things as sources of inspiration, challenges of launching a project, and finding like-minded people. In case you missed it, you can always watch the recordings. Just click on the banners below.

💛  Masterclasses for the Floating EKA Patrons help boost creative energy and give a chance to chat with the most amazing people. Our Patrons had a chance to chat and create performances with Noah Harrell (Cantastoria) and Oleg Khristolyubskii (Site-specific theatre).

EVENTS CALENDAR

💛 During Facebook Live with Acting for Climate, a Norwegian performing arts company, we will discuss the experience of artists collaborating with scientists, how the pandemic challenges art projects, and how Acting for Climate handles the horizontal leadership approach in their company.

💛 Join a workshop "How to play a site-specific performance without leaving your own house?" by Oleg Khristolyubskii, a freelance theater director. Workshop participants will learn what is site-specific, what are different types of it and will take part in an experimental performance directed online by Oleg himself!

  • Sunday, May 9, at 5 pm GMT (available for Patrons with 9 Euro and 25 Euro subscription on Patreon)
As always we find an idea to start a fundraising campaign in support of FloatingEKA particularly fantastic. Big thank you to everyone who is already doing it 😊

Yours,
Polina and Olesya
